I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

A house uncovered.

For as long as I can remember, this house was hidden by trees.  All of the trees were cut recently, leaving the house completely exposed.  The lovely birches behind the house were left intact.
There's a nice barn too.  Now all we can hope is that it isn't demolished!

Today's sunrise.

"There's beauty in the silver singing river,
There's beauty in the sunrise in the sky,
But none of these and nothing else can match the beauty,
That I remember in my true love's eyes."
Bob Dylan

A flat of pansies makes me smile.

“She turned to the sunlight
    And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
    "Winter is dead.”
A.A. Milne
